Gig diary: The Red Lion Gravesend, 16 February

Line-up: Neverstar, Training Icarus, Lightwish

Last night we shared the stage with two awesome bands, playing at a pretty amazing venue.  The Red Lion in Gravesend has been around for many years, and has played host to an array of bands. If you’re ever in the area, we’d recommend that you pop round there as you most likely will find great music accompanied by a lively local crowd.

As for Training Icarus and Lightwish, not only are these two bands exceptional live acts they’re also a great bunch of people. Both of which, contributed to a great night out.

We’ve been looking forward to playing with Training Icarus for some time now, and last night we were finally able to see them perform. Leigh gives a massive vocal performance backed by three guys who evidently knows what they’re doing. Give them a listen, or go see them live, you won’t regret it! (www.trainingicarus.com)

Lightwish is a Nightwish tribute band, well worth checking out. These guys and gal, are very entertaining and delivers a superb performance paying tribute to a legendary band whose music is pretty complicated from a musician’s point of view. Pulling off a good Nightwish performance is not one of the easiest things to do, but Lightwish gets it spot on (www.facebook.com/lightwishuk).

It was great meeting some incredible people, we hope to see you all again soon.
